A subset of artificial intelligence is machine learning, which refers to the concept that computer programs can automatically learn from and adapt to new data without being assisted by humans. Deep learning techniques enable this automatic learning through the absorption of huge amounts of unstructured data such as text, images, or video.
Bioinspired Material Design
A machine learning-enabled optimized design system for microstructural composites is developed to tackle the conflict between strength and toughness and the challenge of design space exploration. The development of materials is always an essential issue that deeply affects our daily life. Recently, owing to the continuous advances in computational simulation, 3-D printing experiments, and machine learning techniques, the process of material design has been elevated to a new level.
Multiscale Modeling
Multiscale modeling or multiscale mathematics is the field of solving problems which have important features at multiple scales of time and/or space. Important problems include multiscale modeling of fluids,solids,polymers,proteins,nucleic acids as well as various physical and chemical phenomena (like adsorption, chemical reactions, diffusion).
